SCOPE

Using resources and services from multiple Clouds for reasons like high availability, cost reductions or special features is a natural evolution from in-silo Clouds.
Being able to move, at design or at run-time, applications from one Cloud to another can reduce the risk of Cloud adoption and can ensure the reliability of the deployed applications.

Two basic delivery models in place for the multiple Clouds: Federations and Multi-Clouds. The session is focusing on the second case, when a third party is building unique entry point for multiple Clouds, without a prior agreement with and between the Cloud providers.

The aim of the Special Session is to offer a snapshot of the current state-of-the-art in using Multi-Clouds and to provide the framework for discussions related to the current problems to be solved and emerging solutions. The session organizers welcome researchers and practitioners who investigate concepts, models and tools for deploying applications on multiple Clouds.

Topics of Interest
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Model-driven design for Multi-Cloud applications
  • Portability and interoperability among Clouds
  • Scheduling, dynamic capacity allocation and load balancing in Multi-Cloud environments
  • Self-adaptivity of applications and auto-scaling mechanisms
  • Open-source support for Multi-Clouds
  • Automatic code generation and deployment of applications on Multi-Clouds
  • Risk analysis for Cloud and Multi-Clouds
  • Cloud service discovery, monitoring, metering, performance, availability and other non functional requirements
  • Brokering and selection of Cloud services and providers
  • Multi-Clouds governance
  • Service level agreements and quality of services
  • Case studies and success stories of applications exploiting multiple clouds
  • Business and organzational impact of deploying applications on (Multi-)Cloud
  • Migration of legacy application to a (Multi-)Cloud environment
