Brief Bio
Karim Djemame is a Professor of Distributed Systems at the School of Computing at the University of Leeds (UK). He sits on a number of international programme committees for Cloud computing, computer networks and performance evaluation. He is currently the Scientific and Technical Manager of the EU-funded project EDGENESS, which revisits the Internet Architecture by leveraging Software Defined Networks (SDN) with Network Function Virtualisation (NFV) technologies to allow efficient and on-demand placement of virtual network functions on a serverless platform for energy-aware function provisioning in edge environments.

SCOPE
The workshop aims to bring together researchers, practitioners, system administrators, software developers, and others interested in the latest advances of energy efficient clouds. Special focus will be on novel methods and tools to support software developers aiming to optimise energy efficiency and minimise the carbon footprint resulting from designing, developing, deploying and running software at the different layers of the Cloud computing stack. We call on to researchers and professionals to present their latest work on addressing such related challenges and to share their experiences and best practices in the deployment of such systems.
TOPICS
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Design modelling of Cloud software
- Cloud computing patterns
- Energy aware applications
- Energy aware programming
- Energy aware cloud service life cycle
- Green Service Level Agreements
- Self-adaptive cloud architectures
- Infrastructure management
- Energy aware storage management
- Energy aware network management
Other Info: The workshop is of interest to a number of EU-funded cloud computing and low energy computing research projects, e.g. TANGO, CloudScale, mF2C, BEACON, PrEstoCloud
