Brief Bio
Markus Helfert is a Professor at Maynooth University, Innovation Value Institute (Ireland) and the Director of the Business Informatics Group at Maynooth University. He is a Principle Investigator at Lero – The Irish Software Research Centre and at the Adapt Research Centre. His research is centred on Digital Service Innovation, Smart Cities and IoT based Smart Environments and includes research areas such as Service Innovation, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Smart Services, Building Information Management, FinTech, Data Value, Enterprise Architecture, Technology Adoption, Analytics, Business Process Managem ent. Prof. Helfert is an expert in Data Governance Standards and is involved in European Standardisation initiatives. He advises small and medium sized Enterprise in relation to Innovation and IT Management. Markus Helfert has authored more than 200+ academic articles, journal and book contributions and has presented his work at international conferences. Helfert has received national and international grants from agencies such as European Union (FP7; H2020), Science Foundation Ireland and Enterprise Ireland, was project coordinator on EU projects, and is the Project coordinator of the H2020 Projects: PERFORM on Digital Retail. ... Brief Bio
Prof. Dr. Jorge Cardoso is Associate Professor and joined the Information System Group at the University of Coimbra in 2009. He is currently undertaking research at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Previously he worked for several major companies such as SAP Research (Germany) on the Internet of Services, the Boeing Company in Seattle (USA) on Enterprise Application Integration and CCG/Zentrum für Graphische Datenverarbeitung on Computer Supported Cooperative Work. Dr. Cardoso has a PhD from the University of Georgia (USA). From the scientific side, he has authored/co-authored/edited more than 130 sci entific publications and has been part of more than 120 program committees and organization bodies, mainly on the fields of services, semantic web, and business process management. He is the Vice-Chair of the Semantic Keyword-based Search on Structured Data Sources COST Action. Dr. Donald F. Ferguson is a Sr. Technical Fellow and Chief SW Architect at Ansys. Don focuses on integration of SW products into solutions, product design and development improvements and transformation to cloud computing/high performance computing. Don is also an adjunct professor in the Dept. of Computer Science at Columbia University, teaching courses in database systems, microservices and cloud native applications. Don was previous an IBM Fellow, Microsoft Technical Fellow, CTO for CA, and co-founder at SeekaTV. Don has approximately 70 technical publications and a dozen patents. Dr. Víctor Méndez Muñoz has a main background in big data management and distributed systems. He participated in scientific international projects in physics and bioinformatics like AGATA, LHCb, ENRM and EISCAT, collaborating with several more. Currently, he is Head of Software Development at Mind the Byte, a bioinformatics company specializing in computational drug discovery using a pay-per-use SaaS platform (Software as a Service). He also works in the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) as a part time professor.
